Forgotten

Why be possessive and isolate me from your so called threats, when all you do is to neglect me and leave me out from your world?

slacking away

Just came back to Singapore this week from 8 months of staying in London, travelling to various European countries, attending a short course at LSHTM, and erm many weeks of slacking overseas. Quite happy but a little sad to be back home... Happy because I'm SO SO sick of London food and I can at last enjoy Sg food (friends all agreed that London has one of the worst food in the world, even when compared to food in other parts of Europe). Sad because my days of slacking are over. And I am starting work next monday sigh. Oh! and I've finally graduated from NUS - just collected my cert today. yay.

Just some pics from the last 2 countries I went to!

First was a 7-day road trip around England and Wales. Figured out that we should explore the UK much more, since we are highly unlikely to go back there again. Turns out to be one of the most memorable trips we had during the 8 months.

Day 1- Stonehenge and Cockington Village, Devon. It was rainy, wet and cold when we went to see the Stonehenge... Just thought it looks like a pile of rocks, don't know why people would actually want to travel the distance to see it, but Cn has been wanting to go see it for a long time so off we went... Cockington Village was a very quaint and peaceful little village, and we snapped many pics there ^^

Day 2- Helford River self-drive boats, the Lizard Lighthouse, Kynance Cove and Lizard Point. The self-drive boats was fun! But when we went it was low tide which was a pity as we couldn't drive in deeper to catch better views...but still a great experience. Kynance Cove was amazingly beautiful and I was quite tempted to dive into the sea but didn't bring swimsuits :(

Day 3- St Michael's Mount, Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Beach and Land's End. Loved all these spots but hated the weather that day cause I was underdressed and the winds were crazyy. The weather was scorching whenever I dressed too much, but freezing whenever I wore too little zzz -_-

Day 4 - Cheddar Gorge in Mendip Hills. We got lost while trekking for 2 hours in the gorge lol.

Day5- Cardiff Bay in Wales + horse riding in Brecon Beacon National Park. We also went to see the Dr Who Experience in Cardiff Bay, impromptu. Nice! Gonna start watching the series.

Day 6 and 7- Cotswolds and Bleinham Palace. Beautiful scenery and I miss the cute owls there. Bleinheim Palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill...never seen such a kuazhang huge palace O.o

After the 7days, we went to Germany for 9 days!
Germany was ok...not as impressionable... One of the few highlights of the trip was the Cologne Cathedral. This is one of the brightest n clearest pic of the cathedral, although I think I spoilt this picture... but too lazy to crop myself out.

We also went to the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburgh, which is totally worth a visit if you are dropping by Hamburgh! I love watching the planes land and take off. Everything there was really creative and had so much effort put into. Then there's UFO and alien in one of the displays...which is like totally random -_- but Cn was so fascinated by this he snapped many pics.

And of course the Berlin Wall! I think this is the East side gallery.

Ehhh one of the most memorable things about Germany was how much  beer and pork we had lolll. Every meal was pork, pork, pork and potatoes. Quite gelat and filling for us Asians so we usually share 3 plates for 4 people.

Signing off. :) it's 4am. :(

happy 2014 =)

Spent my christmas and new year in the UK this year! Here are some photos ^^

The christmas tree at London's Winter Wonderland, a carnival like setting with many christmas markets and rides.

And we set off for Edinburgh! Took a train there, and rented a car to explore the sights. This was taken on the Forth Bridge.

At Bamburgh Castle, one of the castles we visited. Scotland has many castles!

Visited the Alynwick Gardens, but everything's withered... The Alynwick Castle beside (castle where Harry Potter was filmed at) was also closed for winter.

This was one of the yummiest and reasonably priced meal of the trip. The Cullen's Skink (haddock's soup) is worth a try! *mouth waters*

The famous Glencoe. Also the mountain where Skyfall was shot at.

a highland cow

many christmas trees in UK! feels christmassy. This was taken in one of the Bed and Breakfasts.

Isles of Skye

Eileen Donan Castle~ one of the smaller castles but still a highlight.

Edinburgh Castle at night.

Ma la huo guo! so shiok to have hotpot in winter. We ate here on 2 nights hehe.

Arthur's Seat

Hotpot again! :D with sushi buffet.

Random shot of Edinburgh.

And we head off to Glasgow for a day. This was the fountain outside of the People's Palace and Winter Garden.

A photo collage made by Hannah.. We went to her place to celebrate christmas! Love her place cause it's very cosy and comfortable, and she and her husband didnt have to pay for it too since it's sponsored by the company.

The fireworks in London on New Year's Eve.
Was happy on this trip too because this was the first time Cn actively wanted to take photos of himself. hehe. Usually he hides from the camera and hates taking photos and I have to force him to take -.- Sad thing was I accidentally deleted 49 pictures from the camera without saving on my comp. I wanted to drop dead then.
Happy 2014! ^^
